Seaton Library is situated at the heart of the community it serves and is a lively base for many activities for adults and children. There is a wide selection of fiction, non-fiction and audiobooks for loan and DVDs to hire. There are 14 computers, which are free to use for up to 2 hours a day for library members and printing/photocopying facilities as well as scanners.

Children and teenagers both have their own separate section and the library staff run a weekly Bounce & Rhyme session for Under 5s and their carers, regular story times and holiday activity sessions for Primary School children as well as a teen session every Thursday during term-time. Visit the library and you may find a Friends of Seaton Library Coffee morning underway, a craft group for adults taking place or maybe an IT session for beginners in the Learning Suite.

Description: Authors of the three Bradt guides to Slow Travel in South Devon & Dartmoor, North Devon & Exmoor, and our very own East Devon & the Jurassic Coast, Hilary and Janice will describe the oddities and unexpected delights they discovered during their research. From witches, weirs, wassailing and worm-charmers to the amazing treasure-house of local history found in tiny country churches, in the spirit of "slow" travel they have taken time to enjoy the smaller details rather than rushing through the county's more obvious (and often less intriguing) attractions. Do you know which church has a gravestone commemorating cough-mixture? Or whereabouts on Dartmoor the Devil likes to sunbathe? Or how Branscombe smugglers buried their loot? Or the ingredients of Devon Squab Pie? Or where contestants hurtle down a hill in pursuit of oranges? Come and discover all sorts of facts you didn't know you didn't know!
