South Molton Library was built in 2008 as part of the Amory Centre which also houses the town council and North Devon District council. The library is open 5 days a week and caters to the market town of South Molton and the surrounding rural area. South Molton library holds a wide selection of books, audiobooks, DVDs and local studies stock. The library hosts a number of regular events including Lego Club, Bounce and Rhyme, computer and gadget help, family history, knit and natter and reading and writing groups.

The children and teen area is located at the far end of the library and has a range of stock suitable for all ages, as well as offering computer access. There are 9 computers available to access free of charge for two hours per day with printing and copying facilities. There is also a separate computer training suite which can be hired.

Meeting the third Tuesday of each month for the rest of 2018 we shall be running a course on writing your autobiography. February's session covers why and how with extracts from Alan Johnson's 'This Boy' and Nigel Slater's 'Toast', among others. At the end of each session a theme will be decided for you write about at home and bring back to the next meeting. Februrays subject is Parents. Refreshments available and all money goes to the library.

Every last Thursday of the month, a season of classic films in the library. Entrance is FREE. This months film will be multi-award winning 'To Kill a Mockingbird' including Best Actor for Gregory Peck, Best Writing Adapted screenplay and Best Original Score. If you've read the book but never seen the film then this is your chance. Refreshments provided, all donations go to the library to fund further events.

We will then head back to the library for snacks, natural crafts and entertainment with a mix of stories, songs and puppets. These events will take place both in the library and outdoors so please dress appropriately for the weather There will also be a free goody bag for each child at the end. These events are made possible through support from Unlimited Potential, Arts Council England and in partnership with Beaford Arts and the North Devon Biosphere team.
