Book Talk: An Introduction to Steampunk

What is Steampunk? Steampunk is an inspired movement of creativity and imagination. With a backdrop of either Victorian England or America’s Wild West at hand, modern technologies are re-imagined and realized as elaborate works of art, fashion, and mechanics. If Jules Verne or H.G. Wells were writing their science fiction today, it would be considered “steampunk. Brixham Author Richard Dee from the Exeter Authors Association, who has written 2 novels and a collection of short stories exploring the world of Steampunk, will be talking about his characters and how to create a Steampunk world. We will spend the evening listening to short extracts, discussing aspects of the genre around a cuppa kindly provided by the Friends of Exmouth Library. Signed copies will also be available for purchase at a special price. For more information about Richard dee's work, go to www.richarddeescifi.co.uk/rocks. This is a free event. Do come along!
