Jo Lawrence - Senior Supervisor (Resources and Information), Exeter Library
Jo says: I am extremely proud to be given the opportunity to provide maternity cover for the position of Senior Supervisor (Resources and Information). The role is a varied and interesting one and allows me to expand my skill sets to manage and facilitate to the role. I'm not only responsibility for the general stock here at Exeter Library and Exeter Stack, but also the Special Collections, where we have books dating back to 1480. I am really enjoying the creativity involved in organising and implementing the exhibition displays, and liaising with artists to have their work exhibited. The resources and information aspect of my role includes running the Business and Intellectual Property Centre here in Exeter. This presents me with some fantastic opportunities to meet and work with people and businesses from a variety of professions and backgrounds. It’s true to say that libraries are evolving and are no longer about ‘just books’ and I believe that is the way forward to keep libraries relevant for years to come.
