Jack Ireland - Customer Service Assistant, Lynton Library
Jack says: I can honestly say that I love my job. Libraries have always been an important part of my life and I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to learn more about what libraries do for our communities when I started volunteering for Barnstaple Library at the age of 15. It was a great honour and privilege to be offered a post at Lynton Library as this has helped me to develop my skills and experience. I also find it very rewarding to be part of a friendly community who have made me feel very welcome. I’d only been in post at Lynton for two months when I introduced a number of new events to the library, including; Saturday Craft Club, Saturday Lego® Club and a new children's book group "Lynton Book Brigade". I have great support here at Lynton Library from a small but brilliant pool of volunteers who help me deliver and maintain the excellent service we provide. I’m fortunate to have fantastic colleagues at other libraries who have been very supportive of me during my first year of working for this organisation and whom it is great pleasure to work with. You can catch me at one of our other libraries in North Devon if you don’t see me at Lynton.
