Description: Keep your profile, or a loved ones profile, forever as a 3D printed Cameo. Cameos are traditionally, beautifully carved images used to adorn ones person. They have been around for many years and to celebrate the month of February we are giving you the opportunity to have your own custom 3D printed version. There is a lot of history and folklore to suggest that cameos attract health and good fortune, so what better gift to give or make yourself. For this event all you will need to do is send us a photo of the person's profile (side on view), a simple background or clear difference would be preferred to get a clear line. You will also need to pick from the colour options given. These details can be included in an email. Once you purchase this event you will be able to view a document with more details and examples. After we have received your choices via email we will get printing! The Cameo will be approximately 8cm on the longest length as this differs for each frame. Your cameo will be posted 1st class. Description: Design your own beautifully cut wooden candle holder Create you own design for a Laser Cut Wooden Candle Holder. After purchasing a ticket you will be directed to a tutorial video in order to make your design. For the design you will need the software Inkscape which is free to download, but you will need internet (for the download) and a computer. Once you have finished please email us the design to fablab@librariesunlimited.org.uk with the subject text "Laser Cut Wooden Candle Holder Barnstaple Fablab - Your Name/Eventbrite username", including the postal address. Once we have received the finished file we will get making. Your holder will be posted out 1st class (UK only), and the item will come flat packed with simple instructions to put together. Description: Digital workshop Create your own design to become a red patch that you can iron on to fabric at home. In this workshop you will be shown, using Inkscape, how to create a black and white image. Inkscape is free to download from inkscape.org. You can use other software that you are comfortable with as long as you can send this as a JPEG/PNG. Once you have decided on your design you will email us and this will be made. The longest side of your design will be approximately 10/15cm, unless you have a specific size that you would like. We ask for the image you send to be black and white. The black will end up being red and the white will be negative space. We will then post this to you 1st class (UK only).
