Budleigh Salterton Library is open five days a week and has a good collection of books for adults and children, as well as audiobooks, large print books and a large collection of DVDs. There are four public computers in the adult area, free to use for up to 2 hours per day plus printing and copying services. The library has an active Friends Group that organise book sales and coffee mornings and fund various library events.

Budleigh Salterton Library has a purpose built children’s area with, in addition to books, spoken word CDs and DVDs, activity mats, soft toys, dressing up clothes and a box of building blocks, as well as 2 computers. The library hosts a very busy Bounce and Rhyme session evey Friday morning, see our events listing below for the next session.

Free talk by staff from Cancer Research UK who are NOT scientists. Find out more about what the organisation does both nationally and locally and come along with any questions or queries you may have on recent research or any other topic that is relevant to Cancer Research UK. This talk aims to be both informative and fun.

The Budleigh Woolpack (meet every first Monday of the month)

Calling all keen knitters, crochet lovers and those with an eye for design. Collect some yarn hooks, needles and patterns and make as many or as few blocks as you wish. Stay and chat or just come and go. The idea is to join in a collaborative project making throws for local charities, groups and individuals. A warm and friendly welcome to all who pop by. Group lead by Marion Wood.

It's fun and it's free and it's usually for children BUT we'd like to invite adults to take part in Lego Club during Active Life, Active Mind month in Devon's Libraries. Our message to any children who attend our Lego Club is bring along an adult today and build something fantastic!

Gemmano author talk with David Will

David Will has written a powerful and moving novel centred on the Battle of Gemmano in Northern Italy in 1944 and told from the perspective of two young Italian men. David's talk will be accompanied by a presentation showing maps and photos giving an overview of the site and the battle, along with some historical background. His Father was involved in the battle and David has developed a connection to the town of Gemmano because of this. Refreshments will be included with this talk.
