Crediton Library is open five days a week and is fully accessible to all, with off-road parking, including disabled space. Aside from a wide range of fiction and non-fiction book titles, the library offers DVDs and audiobooks to borrow which can all be issued using the self-service points.

The library has a small study area with free Wi-Fi, including 9 public access computers, which are free to use for up to 2 hours each day, plus printing, photocopying and scanning facilities. There are a range of regular events for all ages, both social and various informal learning activities, such as Baby Bounce and Rhyme, knitting group, Lego Club and reading groups for adults and younger readers.

Tractor Story Walk

As part of Credfest Picnic in the Park come and listen to a tractor story read by Crediton Library staff as we walk along the display of vintage tractors in the park. The story walk is a free drop-in event and will happen several times during the picnic. Just look for the Crediton Library stall decorated with Summer Reading Challenge Space Race posters.

Gruesome Seventeeth-Century Recipes' Tracey Norman. Friends of Crediton Library will be serving refreshments to raise funds.

An afternoon of activities, games and stories with fabulous children’s author Sue Mongredien, author of Captain Cat and the Treasure Map and Captain Cat and the Great Pirate Race! Sue has had over one hundred children’s books published, including the Oliver Moon and Secret Mermaid series for Usborne, and the Prince Jake books for Orchard. She is also one of the authors behind the internationally best-selling Rainbow Magic series, as Daisy Meadows. The event is part of the Crediton Community Bookshop's the Big Read and tickets are available from the bookshop at £2 per child, accompanying adults are free.

Crediton Library presents a day of talks and exhibits. 09.30 Keith Barker - An illustrated history of Holy Cross Church, Crediton: with photographs of architectural features, artefacts & documents of one of Devon's oldest churches. 10.30 Brian Carpenter - Maps of Crediton: the maps of Crediton which are in the custody of the Devon Heritage Centre. 11.30 Abi Innocent - Turning Tides @ The Palace: An exploration of Crediton cinema and its heritage. 13.30 John Heal - Improving Crediton: Changes to the town in the 19th Century. 14.30 Dr Paul Cleave - Gooseberries for the fleet: A story of food on the home front in Devon, 1914 - 1918. In addition to exhibits from the presenters there will also be exhibits from Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life and the Museum of Dartmoor Life. The cost is £2 per talk or £8 for the day.
