Unlocking the Cage augmented reality experience, Crediton Library (3rd-17th September)

Come to Crediton Library (3rd - 17th September) and experience an augmented reality installation, which brings to life the captivating stories of female writers whose work lies in 'the cage' - a place beneath the floor of Exeter library where its special collection is housed. Unlocking the Cage is an immersive visual and audio journey through the lives and works of four of these women.
Unlocking the Cage has been researched, written and narrated by award-winning author Kim Sherwood. Shortlisted for the Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award 2019, she is known for her debut novel Testament and is the first woman to have written a James Bond novel with the first book in her trilogy due for publication in September 2022.
Unlocking the Cage can be enjoyed alone, or in groups of up to 4 people at a time and takes approximately 28 minutes to experience in full.
No need to book - accessible during the library's opening hours.

Description: Join in this monthly friendly shared reading group where people enjoy listening to short stories and verse, and read aloud if they wish to. All reading material is provided on the day by Lucy who facilitates the group. There is no monthly prescribed book that everyone has to read before the session, therefore the session can be enjoyed by people with dementia. Please drop in to the library or phone 01392 772578 to book a place. The session is free but there is a suggested donation of £1 for refreshments.
