Cancellation of events

In line with the Prime Minister's speech on Monday 23rd March and to keep our staff, volunteers and customers safe and healthy, events in our libraries are cancelled. We are running some activities online, so please check with your local library to see what's on.

Storytime

Settle down and listen to some lovely stories read by our library staff every week. If you want a reminder click on the <a href='https://www.facebook.com/events/2249715958670233/'>event</a> on our Facebook page and then click on the 'interested' button. If you miss us don't worry, loads of our libraries have story times running throughout the week. Just tune in to the <a href='https://www.facebook.com/TotnesLibrary/'>Totnes Library Facebook page</a> and the stories will be uploaded at this time.

Come along and join in the fun at this free session of nursery rhymes and songs for under 5s. Tea and Coffee are available for a small charge. Helen (a NCT Breastfeeding Counsellor) offers support from 10am-12pm. *Helen is away from Wednesday 4th March to Wednesday 25th March inclusive and will be attending Bounce and Rhyme again from Wednesday 1st April onwards*. Dartmouth Evening Reading Group By Zoom Invitation

Normally meeting on the 1st Thursday of the month. Due to Covid-19 restrictions meeting on Zoom by invitation. The Dartmouth Evening Reading Group read one selected title a month (usually my choice!) then meet in the library to discuss it. Most of our choices are contemporary fiction, often from prize shortlists, but with occasional forays into translated work, non-fiction, poetry or biography. For keen readers. Due to Covid-19 restrictions we are not currently having our meetings. We keep listening to audio books delivered by Dartmouth Caring volunteer and discuss them over the phone or with the DC volunteer. Normally meeting on the 1st Thursday of every month. The Visually Impaired Book Club offers an opportunity to discuss books (supplied as audiobook or large print book) in an informal and supportive atmosphere. Organised in partnership with Dartmouth Caring, refreshments are supplied and transport may be available. There will be occasional visits from healthcare experts

Book Track (online)

Calling all children. Have you heard of Booktrack? Book Track is a reading scheme for children aged 6 and over to support you in developing a love of reading and your confidence in reading. What about reading 100 books? Are you up for this challenge? Then, start reading any books of your choice, collect your personal folder from Northam Library (email or telephone for appointment to collect) if you don't have one. You will be able to collect badges and stickers as you go along and we cannot wait to hear all about your progress. Reading is fun! Enjoy!
