The new internet enabled, social media fed generation embraces personal and passionate video content and mostly ignores the rest. The session is not for complete beginners but is a drop in session so there is no need to book. During busy periods there may be a wait as staff and volunteers aim to assist as many people as possible during the session.

After World War Two Caribbean people re-crossed the Atlantic Ocean, this time not as chattel slaves but in response to the push of colonial oppression and exploitation, and the demand for their labour in the UK. Professor Sir Hilary Beckles examines the circumstances which lead to this ‘second Middle Passage’ in this keynote lecture.
