Small Screen Cinema

Our free small screen cinema at the library is back so you can get your fix of another set of classic films. Starting the new year off with the 1939 classic western 'Destry Rides Again' on Thursday 31st January; staring James Stuart as Tom Destry, son of a legendary frontier peacekeeper who becomes the object of widespread ridicule when he rides into the town of Bottleneck, the personal fiefdom of the crooked Kent (Brian Donlevy). But the laughter subsides when Destry casually proves himself a crack shot, despite his abhorrence of firearms. Later, when saloon girl Frenchy (Marlene Dietrich), Kent's gal, takes umbrage at Destry's indifferent reaction to her charms, she vows to make a fool of the new deputy. With new drinks service offered by Barley and Vine, South Molton Wine Bar. Order and pay for your drink with them by 6pm on a film night and have it delivered for the start of the film.
