About Charles Dickens talk

Regular library speaker and supporter Jonathan Edmunds will share knowledge on Charles Dickens. Chances are at least one of his books will be on your ‘to read’ list or perhaps you've read them all; regardless of whether you've read the books everyone has heard of classic characters such as Scrooge, Oliver Twist, Miss Havisham and David Copperfield. Tales of hero’s and villains, romance and lost loves and broken hearts, of the daily struggles of the poor contrasting with the exuberant wealth of the rich. Find out more about the man himself; his speed of writing, use of names and private life and fame. No need to book, just come along.
