E-Wednesday - IT Drop In

Every Wednesday our IT Drop-in session has staff and volunteers on hand for one to one support, located in the Teen area of the library. Find help with basic IT skills, using the internet, creating email accounts, sending and receiving emails, using social media and much more. The session is not for complete beginners but is a drop in session so there is no need to book. During busy periods there may be a wait as staff and volunteers aim to assist as many people as possible during the session.

CoderDojo Taster

A taster session for young people 7-17, who are interested in trying coding; and are a complete beginner or have tried simple coding before. We will be playing with Scratch on the day, which is excellent for beginners as it uses block-based programming and all the options are on the screen in front of you. Parents or guardians will need to stay with children under 13 in case Ninja's (the name for young people attending the Dojo) forget a password or email address as part of their project or to assist if they need help. Bring in your laptop, your tablet, i-pad, mobile phone and we will do our best to answer any questions you have. We are not experts but hope to be in a position to give you the confidence to use your equipment with confidence.
