Cancellation of events

In line with the Prime Minister's speech on Monday 23rd March and to keep our staff, volunteers and customers safe and healthy, events in our libraries are cancelled. We are running some activities online, so please check with your local library to see what's on.

Dartmouth VIP Reading Group

Normally meeting on the 1st Thursday of every month. The Visually Impaired Book Club offers an opportunity to discuss books (supplied as audiobook or large print book) in an informal and supportive atmosphere. Organised in partnership with Dartmouth Caring, refreshments are supplied and transport may be available. There will be occasional visits from healthcare experts. Due to lockdown we continue our book discussions via the telephone. We are currently listening to The Barbed Wire University by Midge Gillies.

Memory café Memory café is run by Dartmouth Caring, a friendly and informal meeting for people with memory problems and their families. Meetings are weekly, but on the first Tuesday of each month Dartmouth Library is offering a Book Club with shared reading of poems and short extracts from books with a ‘feel good’ factor.

Join us for a friendly walk exploring the walking routes around Barnstaple and over the 12 weeks maybe make some new friends too. Please share with friends and family! Programme funded by Connecting Actively to Nature with Active Devon. Suggested donation of £2 per session to help cover costs. Bring focus and clarity to your life and improve your sense of well-being. £4 per session. Payable at time of booking. Please book at the library.

The Friends of Crediton Library welcome local families and friends to these new monthly community events with shared tea & refreshments, talks & ideas and collaborative projects. Sustainable Sundays will take place at Crediton Library on the 3rd Sunday of the month 4.00 pm – 5.30 pm starting next Sunday, 19th January. If you would like to share ideas to improve our sustainable behaviour and help create proposals for local decision makers then please come along. Please also bring home-made food to share. The sessions are free but donations are welcome for Friends of Crediton Library projects.
