Nestled in the heart of town, situated just off the main street, Okehampton Library occupies a historic school room and is open six days a week. As well as a regularly updated range of stock and displays to inspire you, the library also offers frequent events for children and adults. Staff are always on hand to help with any queries, and can assist in navigating all services.

Tea and coffee is available for a small fee throughout the day, and the library offers the perfect place to sit and relax, peruse the local newspapers, work online, or catch up on your reading.

Mischief Makers - Summer Reading Challenge

14 JULY - 8 SEPTEMBER DURING LIBRARY OPENING HOURS. This is an annual programme produced by the Reading Agency and delivered by libraries to encourage children to read over the long summer holidays when a child's reading can 'dip'. This year's theme is 'Mischief Maker' and is part of the 80th Anniversary of The Beano. Each child that reads 6 books to complete the challenge by 8th September will be given a free ticket for entry to the Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre.
