Nestled in the heart of town, situated just off the main street, Okehampton Library occupies a historic school room and is open six days a week. As well as a regularly updated range of stock and displays to inspire you, the library also offers frequent events for children and adults. Staff are always on hand to help with any queries, and can assist in navigating all services.

Tea and coffee is available for a small fee throughout the day, and the library offers the perfect place to sit and relax, peruse the local newspapers, work online, or catch up on your reading.

Gadgeteers Summer Reading Challenge 2022
Saturday 9 July - Friday 10 September. Join the Gadgeteers for the Summer Reading Challenge. Pick up your starter pack from the library, read 6 books by the end of the school holidays, collect stickers as you go and receive a certificate when you complete the challenge.  A Gadgeteers Hunt will also be available to complete within the library. Suitable for children aged 4-11 No booking necessary, just drop in.

Join Brick Ideas to design and build using Technic Lego. Which gadgets will you build? A drawing gadget, a pole climbing machine, a catapult? Suitable for children aged 6+ (children under 8 years must be accompanied by an adult) Tickets £5 per child. Booking in advance is essential.
