Tiverton Library is one of the busiest libraries in Devon with over 90,000 visits a year and 100,000 items borrowed. The library is located near the bus station and shares the building on Phoenix Lane with Mid Devon District Council and Tiverton Job Centre Plus. As well as fiction and non-fiction books for adults there is a busy children’s library; a teen area with PCs and a Wii; study space; a meeting room for hire; 19 public computers and free Wi-Fi access for all.

Library members enjoy participating in the many activities that take place in the library every week for the young and young at heart: from under 5s sessions to knitting and nattering. The library is known for being a vibrant, lively and fun place to be.

Summer Reading Challenge

Sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge from Sat 13th July to Sat 7th September at the library. It's completely free to take part and there are stickers to collect as you go plus a medal and certificate at the end. The challenge is primarily aimed at children 4+ years. This year's theme is Space Chase and our launch day on Sat 13th will include space activities, space Lego Club and games on the Wii.

From the busy newspaper offices in London to the frontline during World War II, Clare’s adventures tell the remarkable true story of one of the most important writers of our time. This globe-trotting and playful family show embarks on the journey of Clare’s life. A life-story which has been forgotten for years. We’ll celebrate the work of a pioneer who changed the mould of journalism, not just for women but for everyone. The show will be followed by a free storytelling workshop for all the family!
